Signs and Symptoms
What to look for:You will notice that your cat will begin by having difficulty breathing. This can result in them wheezing, rapidly breathing, coughing, or sometimes vomiting. You will usually see your cat crouching with her head forward.
Many times this will come on very quickly, and it can be triggered by several reasons. With Sabrina, many times hers is triggered when she is awakened from sleep. She will start off with a few coughs, that if not treated quickly will come on as a full fledged asthma attack. Depending on your cat, she may go and hide when having the attack. Some cats will hunker down and hold tightly on the carpet or floor as they try to regain their breath.
